AI's biggest impact: Which sectors have benefited most as job security remains a vital concern
More than a year has passed since the public first gained access to OpenAI's ChatGPT, giving various industries the chance to experiment with artificial intelligence (AI) and a sense of the transformational potential -- or lack of it. "Any industry that has large amounts of data that needs to be indexed and processed quickly is ripe for AI integration," Reema Khan, founder and CEO at Green Sands Equity, told Fox News Digital. "In technology for example, writing thousands of lines of code is much easier to do with an AI co-pilot and can do ten times a software engineer's productivity." The U.S. economy added over 353,000 jobs in January 2024, but the tech sector continues to suffer significant layoffs. Google laid off several hundred employees from its sales and advertising teams in the same month as part of multiple rounds of cost-cutting measures.

AI-designed drug for inflammatory bowel disease enters human clinical trials: 'A significant need'
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) impacts 1.6 million people in the U.S. -- and a new artificial intelligence-generated drug could help alleviate symptoms. Insilico Medicine, an AI-driven biotech company based in Hong Kong and in New York City, recently announced that its new AI-designed IBD drug -- ISM5411 -- has entered Phase I clinical trials. This is Insilico's fifth AI-designed drug to enter the pipeline. WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)? If approved, it would be the first medication to treat IBD by blocking prolyl hydroxylase domain (PHD), a protein that regulates the body's gut barrier protection genes, according to Alex Zhavoronkov, PhD, founder and CEO of Insilico Medicine.

New app can tell you exactly how many calories are in your food - just by looking at it
There's an endless number of apps that claim to help with weight loss. But one now claims to be able to tell you exactly how many calories are in your food -- just by taking a picture of what you're eating. Healthify prompts you to take a picture of your meals. Using artificial intelligence (AI), it can recognise food on your plate, as well as how much you have, to generate a nutritional breakdown. A new version of the app, which will be rolled out in the UK in the coming days, includes the feature called Snap 2.0.

What is My AI on Snapchat - and how do I get rid of it?
Snapchat became the latest platform to jump on the chatbot bandwagon when it launched My AI in February. My AI is'an experimental and friendly' chatbot designed to be a personal sidekick to each Snapchatter who chats with it, the social media app says. Powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT, it can be used to come up with dinner suggestions, plan an itinerary, or send a loved one a personalised poem. Initially, My AI was only available to those sign up to Snapchat Plus, its £3.99-per-month subscription service, but now it is being released to all Snapchat users. My AI will appear pinned in the chat tab above conversations with friends for all users – but it can be removed if wanted.

This Artificial Intelligence App Wants To Make You A Better Teacher - AI Summary
Poskin is the founder and CEO of TeachFX, an artificial intelligence-powered app that records teachers' lessons and gives them personalized feedback about what they do well and where they could improve. Like many fledgling businesses, TeachFX was nearly snuffed out by the Covid-19 pandemic, but today the company is partnered with about 70 school districts and is on track to book about $2.5 million in revenue this year. We'll show that as an aggregated thing, but never on an individual teacher level because we just philosophically believe it's so important for anybody's learning and growth that you feel safe doing it," Poskin said. Beyond business success, scaling the app quickly is important to Poskin in part because he believes AI is coming to teaching and he'd rather it be done with his teacher-confidential approach. Poskin and his team quickly developed a version of TeachFX that worked with Zoom lessons, and assumed that at least for the 2020-21 school year, no one would be interested in it. "I imagine this future where when university rankings come out, the student talk percentage is one of those foundational metrics that everybody's reporting on because it's what matters for learning," Poskin said. Security in the Metaverse and What Banks Need to Know
Recognised by Gartner as a "Cool Vendor in Fraud and Authentication," Arkose Labs offers an industry-first warranty on account protection. Its AI-powered platform combines powerful risk assessments with dynamic attack response that undermines the ROI behind attacks, while improving good user throughput. We caught up with the company's dynamic founder and CEO, Kevin Gosschalk to talk banking security and all things metaverse. In high school, I led a guild of 40 players taking down monsters in a game developed by Blizzard Entertainment called "World of Warcraft". Nearly 16 years later, as the founder and CEO of Arkose Labs, we protect Blizzard and many other world-class customers from fraudsters' attacks and abuse.
